Netizens Condemns Abia Rep, Alex Ikwechegh, assaults Abuja driver

Nigerians have condemned a member of the House of Representatives, Alex Ikwechegh, for assaulting an e-hailing (Bolt) driver who went to deliver a package to him at his Maitama residence in Abuja. Media Online reports a viral video which emerged on social media showing the lawmaker verbally and physically assaulting the driver, whose name is yet unknown, for telling him to come out and get the snail the driver was meant to deliver to him. In the video, the visibly angered member representing Aba North & South Federal Constituency repeatedly insisted that the request was disrespectful given his social status. The All Progressives Grand Alliance member also threatened to make the driver “disappear” without facing any consequences. Gunmen Kidnap University Of Nigeria School Of General Studies Dean, Prof Oguejiofo Ujam

                                            By Vivian Saleh Kindly Share Story...      Ujam, who is the Dean, School of General Studies (GS), was reportedly kidnapped Sunday morning along Ugwuogo -Nike -Opi -Nsukka Road. Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted Prof. Oguejiofo Ujam, a senior lecturer at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN). The House of Representatives Committee on Federal Polytechnics and Higher Technical Education, has pledged to ensure that the dichotomy between university degree and Higher National Diploma (HND) is addressed. The Committee assured that the disparity in status and employment opportunities between both, in the country, will be eliminated. Chairman of the Committee, Fuad Kayode Laguda, gave the assurance during an interactive oversight engagement with Rectors of the Federal Polytechnic Shendam and Federal Polytechnic Wannune at the National Assembly Complex. NICO Set To Organize Nationwide Craft Fiesta

The National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), has announced plans to host a nationwide craft fiesta, showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage and promoting indigenous crafts. Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja yesterday, NICO’s executive secretary, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, said the Nationwide Craft Fiesta, which is a major initiative of the government, is an aggregation of craft events in one location that is envisaged to be an annual event in the creative economy calendar. “The Nationwide Craft Fiesta, aimed at stimulating the foundations of the creative economy is designed to engage, encourage and promote craftsmen and women in Nigeria. “It is also structured to create an empowerment scheme by using regionalized nationwide craft fiesta as a platform to engender economic empowerment, entrepreneurship and job creation. “The plan is to raise 20 artisan, craftsmen and women across various spe
