7 officers missing as NSCDC neutralizes 50 Bandits elements

ABUJA— A special squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, yesterday, neutralized 59 bandits, who had ambushed them in Kaduna State, shortly after conducting a patrol of the national grid installation in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State. Media gathered that the incident occurred about 3:40 p.m., when the convoy of the special monitoring squad comprising of nine officers and 71 other ranks drawn from the Commandant General Special Intelligence Squad, CG SIS, operatives, FCT Command and Kaduna State Command respectively, were ambushed at Farin- Kasa Area of Chukun LGA in Kaduna State. Confirming the incident, Corps Public Relations Officer, Babawale Afolabi said seven personnel of the Corps were still “missing in action” as of the time of filing this report. Indian Prime Minister visit Nigeria, to deepen trade, military partnership

Diverse messages had circulated on social media about a suspected explosive device in the vicinity, causing panic, but the State Police Command debunked the rumour, saying it was a false alarm.   Sensitive materials for the Ondo State governorship election, scheduled for Saturday, 16th November 2024, have arrived in Akure, the state capital. The materials were transported by the Nigerian Air Force and have been received by officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria. This was disclosed in a brief message posted on the official X page of the Independent National Electoral Commission on Monday. The message read: “Breaking News! Sensitive materials for the Ondo State governorship election, scheduled for Saturday, 16th November 2024, have arrived in Akure, the state capital, and have been received by officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The materials were conveyed to Akure by the Nigerian Air Force.” This marks a significant step towards ensuring a smooth and secure election process in the state.

Fire Breakout Ajah Market In Lagos, Destroys Goods Worth Millions Of Naira

The fire destroyed goods valued to be worth millions of naira. It was gathered that the fire started around 9 pm, engulfing several shops and stores filled with combustible materials. Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), reported that the agency, in collaboration with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, responded swiftly to contain the fire. Oke-Osanyintolu said the cause of the fire was still unknown at the time of filing this report. However, no casualties or injuries were reported, as traders were absent due to the market being closed for Sunday. "The LASEMA Response Team, in collaboration with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to adjacent structures. "Effor
