AMB. Chijoke Ihunwo Set To Construct New Lodge For CORPS Members.

The chairman, caretaker committee of Obio Akpor local government area of Rivers State, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo has announced plans to build a new lodge for corps members serving in the local government.

As an immediate remedy, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo has offered a two week free accommodation for those who do not have a place to stay.

Speaking during a meeting with the management of the NYSC and some corps members serving in Obio Akpor amongst other things, the CTC chairman of Obio Akpor local government area also promised to address the complaint of inadequate water where some of the corps members presently reside.

Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo assured the corps members that he will do everything to make them comfortable and safe.

He further offer two weeks free accomodations to  corps members without home.

In his words.

"The governor of Rivers state, Sir Siminalayi Fubara is a youth, you can also see that I am a youth so the present leadership both at the state and local governments is manned by youth so be rest assured that we will do everything humanly possible to give you the best".

Earlier, the Inspector of the NYSC in Obio Akpor local government area, Mr James Elogbo had listed their challenges to include inadequate accommodations and poor incentive for both corps members and staff, adding that the LGA has more than six thousand corps members.
