How National Hajj Commission Chairman Mismanaged N90Billion Fund

The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Jalal Arabi, and the commission’s secretary, Abdullahi Kontagora, are currently in the custody of the EFCC. Following controversies that greeted the management of the 2024 Hajj N90 billion fund and subsequent invitation of the National Hajj Commission Chairman by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the EFCC says it has recovered some misappropriated funds from the hajj programme. Quoting official documents, The media reported that the anti-graft agency said, “A total of SR314,098 was recovered,” from the NAHCON chairman and other high-ranking officials. Police Invade CDHR office In Lagos

                    By Vivian Saleh kindly share story  The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR, has raised the alarm over the invasion of its national headquarters, Right House, in Ikeja Lagos by the Nigerian Police. A statement by CDHR National President, Comrade Debo Adeniran, and National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Idris Olayinka, noted that the Police laid siege to the Rights House in the early hours of Friday. They said the Police prevented occupants of the building from gaining entrance. The statement further noted that the Police presence at the Rights House is to stop the Education Rights Campaign Symposium scheduled to hold at the main hall of the CDHR office. Lenin was reportedly arrested by the DSS at around 2 a.m. on Monday in his home in the Apo area of the FCT. Damilare Adenola, the Director of Mobilisation for the Take It Back Movement, stated that Lenin's house was raided and he was assaulted during the arrest. "Lenin was arrested by the DSS during a raid on his house around 2 a.m.," Adenola said. Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets of Abuja’s Central Business District, decrying hunger and economic hardship in various parts of the nation. The usually bustling hub of government and corporate activity has been transformed into a virtual ghost town, with plainclothes policemen and security agents deployed in major areas. The protesters, chanting slogans like “We dey Hungry” and “Nigerian government is a scam”, are marching towards the Eagle Square Arena at the Federal Secretariat Complex. An unknown source who went on live record shared a video circulating the internet  saying; " This is gwagwalada express Way the protester are out on the streets and they are burning tyres on the road anybody who is traveling today is advised to be very careful and vigilant because the youths have become violent  the security agents are on ground and are taking it easy doing their job and safeguarding the people but the protesters are burning tyres on the express road .
