Retired Military Officers Protest In Abuja Over Non-Payment Of Pensions, Other Entitlements

Retired military personnel under the group of Coalition of Concerned Veterans (CCV) on Wednesday protested over the non-payment of their pensions and other outstanding entitlements in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. 

The ex-servicemen who disrupted activities at the Federal Ministry of Finance at the Federal Secretariat with music, displayed banners carrying different inscriptions. 

Among other demands by the retired military officers are the non-payment of the 28% increment since January, the three months palliative and N32,000 flat rate added to them since July. 

The protesters also highlighted others such as; bulk SDA payments with new template regardless of retirement year, the VFN bill to be reviewed and passed in line with global best practices and many others. 

Speaking on the protest, one of the ex-servicemen who spoke with Media, appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene and direct the military authorities to pay their pensions without further delay.
