Critically ill Nigerian In Ethiopian Prison Allegedly Abandoned, Denied Treatment By Facility Officials
They have appealed to President Bola Tinubu to urgently intervene in their plight.
Media gathered that over 300 Nigerians are presently languishing at Kaliti prison, a maximum-security prison in Addis Abba, Ethiopia.
Some of the inmates who spoke to News Men appealed to the Nigerian government to come to their rescue.
They claimed many of them have fallen ill due to malnourishment.
The inmates were more concerned about one of them identified as Basil Lawrence, whom they claimed had been sick for some days.
Rather than giving him immediate medical attention, he was left untreated despite his obvious sickness, one of them informed that,
“One of our Nigerian brothers, Basil Lawrence Ilobi is still down with a stroke, yet no treatment,”
In 2023, two Nigerians, Chizoba Eze and Uchenna Nwanneneme, died in the same Kaliti Prison following alleged physical aggression and poor medication.
